Outdoor Amenities - $130,000

A Realm of Possibilities - Enhancing Facilities to Encourage Mobility and Social Interaction

Over the past several years, Country Manor Foundation has funded several outdoor improvement projects.

From secure, shaded seating areas near Pioneer Village and East Commons to scenic walking trails through the wooded acreage for which our St. Joseph campus is named, the Foundation recognizes the need for our residents to move beyond the walls of Country Manor.

In the past year alone, donations to the Foundation have contributed to community gardens featuring ADA approved, wheelchair accessible raised garden beds; the installation of a lighted fountain at Woodcrest, and the inaugural holiday lighting event coming this December at Country Manor, Sartell.

With your help, we will continue to enhance our outdoor facilities by raising $130,000 to add a pergola, patio and putting green to the Duck Pond Courtyard, and extending the trails at Woodcrest.  Please continue reading below for project descriptions and concept images.

Duck Pond Courtyard Patio and Pergola

The Duck Pond Courtyard at Country Manor is one of its best features. Accessible from all three senior housing neighborhoods, the courtyard features a flower garden, duck pond, walking path, and an abundance of green space. In addition to the beautiful scenery, this area is also home to the popular Summer Concert Series and the new Holiday Lighting Display.

The proposed patio and pergola will be located just outside of the Senior Apartment Dining Room and Garden Cove. Providing a scenic seating and picnic area for residents and guests, the hard surface of the paved area will also give those with limited mobility the confidence to navigate the outdoors, whether using a walker, wheelchair, or scooter.

The views below are side-by-side comparisons of the current exterior of the dining room and computer-rendered concept art of the enhancements.  Once funding begins, we will finalize plans and provide more detailed designs.

Putting Green

Whether practicing for the annual Hometown Golf Classic, or entertaining family, the putting green will be a hit among our residents!  Located in the northeast corner of the Duck Pond Courtyard, this multi-holed, synthetic surface is sure to please seasoned and amateur golfers, alike.

Woodcrest Walking Trails

Located on 85 acres of picturesque woodlands, Woodcrest of Country Manor offers numerous outdoor gathering areas, walking paths, and green space.

In the spring of 2019, the Woodcrest trails were opened to residents and guests, offering a safe, smooth path for light recreational hiking and nature walking.  Often referred to as "going up hill," these trails have become one of Woodcrest's most beloved features.

Funding for this project will go toward extending the cleared pathways, trail signage, rest areas, and a multi-seated cart/vehicle for transport and emergency response.
